愛する東京ステークの皆様
明けましておめでとうございます。昨年は皆様の救い主への信仰と愛あるミニスタリングによって、東京ステークにおける救いと昇栄の業が前進したと強く感じます。ステーク会長会からの心からの感謝を申し上げます。昨年9月に来日された十二使徒定員会のアンダーセン長老がおっしゃったように、救いと昇栄をもたらす末日聖徒イエス・キリスト教会の会員であることは大きな特権であり、喜びと平安の源です。
ステークのテーマは継続して「イエス・キリストと固く結ばれる~神殿の聖約と儀式を通して」、サブテーマは「Love, Share, Invite(愛し、分かち合い、招く)」です。
これから今年の目標を立てる方もいらっしゃると思います。ネルソン大管長は昨年10月の総大会でお話された「日の栄えの考え」の中で以下を勧告されました。
「敵対者の欺きに終わりはありません。備えてください。信仰がない人々からの助言を決して受け入れないでください。信頼できる人の声から，すなわち預言者，聖見者，啓示者から，そして「なすべきことをすべてあなたがたに示される」聖霊のささやきから，導きを受けてください。個人の啓示を受けるための能力を高めるような霊的活動を行ってください。」日の栄えの考え (churchofjesuschrist.org)
私たちが敬愛し支持する大管長会と十二使徒定員会の15名の預言者、聖見者、啓示者が先の総大会で教えられた事柄を読み返し、個人・家族として今年取り組みたい事柄を目標にすることをお勧めします。生涯を通して主の弟子になるために、主は様々な経験や試練を通して私たちを教え、訓練されます。
ネルソン大管長はどのようにして日の栄えの考えを抱くことができるようになるか教えて下さっています。そうです!主の宮居である神殿で聖約を交わし守ることで、天のお父様からの特別な種類の愛と憐み(ヘセド)を受けることができます。永遠の聖約 (churchofjesuschrist.org)
「もっと多くの時間を神殿で過ごすことが，信仰を築きます。そして，神殿で奉仕し，礼拝することが，日の栄えの考えを抱く助けになるのです。神殿は，啓示の場です。そこで，日の栄えの生活に向かって成長する方法が示されます。そこで，救い主にさらに近づき，より大きな主の力にあずかります。そこで，人生の課題や最も複雑な問題を解決するための導きを受けるのです。」
救い主、贖い主であられるイエス・キリストは確かに生きておられ、私たち一人一人を愛しておられます。私たちが預言者から与えられる招きを喜んで受け入れ、行動に移すときに、主の愛と平安で包まれることを証します。2024年が皆さんにとって素晴らしい年になるように心からお祈りいたします。

Dear Members of the Tokyo Stake,
We wish you a Happy New Year. Through your faith in the Savior and your ministering, we strongly feel that the work of salvation and exaltation in the Tokyo Stake moved forward last year. We, the stake presidency would like to express our gratitude for your dedication. As Elder Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said during his visit to Japan last September, the membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which brings salvation and exaltation is a great privilege and a source of joy and peace.
The theme of our stake continues to be “Bound securely to Jesus Christ through temple covenants and ordinances” with a sub-theme of “Love, Share, Invite.”
Many of you will set goals for this year. President Nelson counseled the following in his talk “Think Celestial!” in the general conference last October:
“There is no end to the adversary’s deceptions. Please be prepared. Never take counsel from those who do not believe. Seek guidance from voices you can trust—from prophets, seers, and revelators and from the whisperings of the Holy Ghost, who “will show unto you all things what ye should do.” Please do the spiritual work to increase your capacity to receive personal revelation.” Think Celestial! We invite you to read again what the 15 prophets, seers, and revelators in the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, whom we love, respect, and support, taught in the last general conference and decide what you want to work on as individuals and families this year. The Lord teaches and trains us through various experiences and trials to help us become His disciples throughout our lives.
President Nelson taught us how to think celestial. Yes, by making and keeping covenants in the temple, the house of Lord, we can receive a special kind of love and mercy (hesed) from our Heavenly Father! The Everlasting Covenant (churchofjesuschrist.org)
“Spending more time in the temple builds faith. And your service and worship in the temple will help you to think celestial. The temple is a place of revelation. There you are shown how to progress toward a celestial life. There you are drawn closer to the Savior and given greater access to His power. There you are guided in solving the problems in your life, even your most perplexing problems.”
Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, lives and loves each of us. We testify that when we willingly accept the invitations extended by the prophets and take action, we will be filled with His love and peace. We sincerely pray that you will have a wonderful year in 2024.
